Canadian-Ghanaian forward Kwasi Poku came off the bench to score but could not stop RWDM Brussels from falling to a 3-2 defeat away to Lommel in the Belgian Challenger Pro League.
Introduced on 59 minutes, Poku needed barely three minutes to make his mark, calmly finishing Gaëtan Robail’s cut-back to level the game at 1-1.
That response arrived just moments after Ralf Seuntjens had given Lommel the lead, punishing RWDM following a spell of sustained pressure. Poku’s strike briefly swung momentum towards the visitors, yet the hosts hit back again when Lucas Schoofs restored their advantage with a low drive midway through the second half.
RWDM kept pushing and were rewarded when Usman Simbakoli made it 2-2 on 78 minutes, setting up a tense finale. However, Jhon Banguera’s late header on 88 minutes finally broke their resistance and sealed all three points for Lommel.
Poku’s goal adds to an impressive 2025/26 Challenger Pro League campaign, where he has made 12 appearances and scored 2 goals.
RWDM Brussels will aim to bounce back at home against Anderlecht Futures next Saturday, April 11.
