Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Owusu has shared an update on forward Johnson Owusu ahead of their Week 28 fixture against Samartex.
Speaking before Monday’s game, Prince Owusu admitted the striker is still unlikely to return in time, although there has been some progress in his recovery.
Asante Kotoko will host Samartex on April 6 as they look to improve their recent form, having recorded two wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last five matches.
"Yeah. The chances for him coming back in the next game is not that huge but we are waiting to tomorrow. Last night I met him at the physio room for when he came in for treatment and he told me there's much much improvement on it. He couldn't pick the leg up by itself but now he does it and he does it very well," he told AKSC Media.
Samartex head into the game struggling for results, with three draws and two defeats in their last five outings.
The match is set to kick off at 4:30 pm.
