Dutch-Ghanaian attacker Damienus Reverson struck a vital opener as FC Zürich edged Thun 2â1 at the Letzigrund to reignite their Swiss Super League campaign.
The 22-year-old timed his run perfectly on 15 minutes, sweeping home from close range after Valon Berisha slipped a clever pass into the box to give Zürich an early lead.
Thun hit back before the break, Leonardo Bertone drilling in a low equaliser on 38 minutes from an Elmin Rastoder assist to cap a spell of sustained pressure. Zürich regained control after half-time, pinning the visitors back and eventually finding the winner when Ivan Cavaleiro finished clinically from another Berisha assist in the 77th minute.
Reverson’s movement and pressing set the tone for Zürich’s front line before he made way midway through the second half to a deserved ovation.
His goal takes him to 6 goals, 0 assists in 22 Swiss Super League appearances for the 2025/26 season. The result halts Zürich’s run of four straight league defeats and lifts confidence in the battle to climb the table.
Zürich now prepare for a tough trip to Lugano in their next Super League fixture on Saturday, 4 April.
