Ghanaian teenage goalkeeper Rockson Amedeka has taken the next step in his career after signing his first professional contract with American club Sarasota Paradise.
The 18-year-old shot-stopper joins the United States side on a multi-year deal after developing through the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Accra, one of the world’s leading football development institutions.
Standing at 6’3”, Amedeka has built a reputation as a modern goalkeeper known for his distribution and composure with the ball at his feet. His performances at academy level have also earned him opportunities to train with Ghana U20 during national team camps.
Sarasota Paradise founder and chief executive Marcus Walfridson said the signing reflects the club’s ambition to recruit promising young players from across the world.
“Rockson’s journey from Ghana to Sarasota at just 18 years old is an incredible story and a testament to the global reach of this club,” Walfridson said.
Amedeka expressed excitement about the opportunity, saying the move offers him a platform to grow and develop as a professional player.
The goalkeeper trained in a competitive environment at Right to Dream, facing top European academy sides including Villarreal CF, Valencia CF and Feyenoord.
