Ignatius Osei-Fosu, assistant coach of the Sudanese national football team, has clarified that he was never officially approached for the Asante Kotoko coaching position, despite widespread speculation. Speaking to Luv FM, Osei-Fosu, who works under Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah—also the Head of Sporting Affairs at Asante Kotoko—said he values being considered for high-profile roles but emphasizes the importance of timing in his career decisions. “In the first place, if your name comes up, it means that you have done a fantastic job. But nobody actually contacted me," he said. The former Dreams FC, Medeama and King Faisal F.C. coach stressed that he approaches opportunities deliberately, ensuring the timing aligns with his professional goals. “Timing of the job is always of the essence to me. When I’m picking jobs, it’s always the right time. I don’t jump into it. From the start of my career, my people and I have always talked about timing, so there have been different jobs at different times,” he explained. He also revealed that earlier this season, another Ghana Premier League club reached out to him, but he declined due to timing considerations. “In fact, when I came to Ghana earlier this season, there was a Ghana Premier League club that contacted me. But I told them the time was not right,” he added.
