The management of Asante Kotoko have not yet decided on the fate of head coach Abdul Karim Zito, GHANAsoccernet can report.
This comes amid growing reports of a decision by the Kumasi-based club to sack the experienced tactician following the team’s defeat to Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 over the weekend.
Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, the Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has provided some clarity.
“We are yet to make a final decision. While the coach has done his best, we are not fully satisfied, and any decision taken should come as no surprise to anyone,” he said.
Checks have revealed that the current contract between Asante Kotoko and Karim Zito stipulates that he must be given a one-month notice about his sacking.
If his contract is terminated without the one-month notice, Kotoko will pay an amount of GHS120,000 as compensation.
