Nigeria international Ademola Lookman has officially sealed his long-awaited transfer to Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
In an official statement, the Madrid-based club confirmed that Lookman has signed a four-year contract following an agreement with Italian outfit Atalanta. The deal will see the 28-year-old remain with Atletico Madrid until the summer of 2030.
“Atlético de Madrid and Atalanta have agreed on the transfer of Ademola Lookman, who has signed for us until 30 June 2030.
“Our new signing passed his medical at the Vithas-Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre at Arturo Soria University Hospital in Madrid, before heading to the club offices at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Lookman arrives in Spain with a reputation as a versatile and dynamic attacker. Predominantly right-footed, the Nigerian forward is also effective with his left and is capable of operating both as a winger on either flank or in a supporting striker role.
His pace, dribbling ability and direct style make him a constant threat whether cutting inside or stretching defenses from wide areas.
The signing is seen as a significant boost for Diego Simeone’s squad as Atletico Madrid push to end the season on a high note and compete strongly for silverware.
