Black Queens forward Evelyn Badu has sealed a move to Canadian outfit Montreal Roses.
The 23-year-old signed a deal to join Roses ahead of the 2026 campaign after leaving French side Fleury 91.
The former Hasaacas Ladies player arrives in North America after spells in Norway and France.
An excited Badu revealed that joining Roses is an opportunity she has been yearning for.
“Joining the Montreal Roses is an opportunity I’ve been waiting for,” said Badu.
“Women’s professional soccer in North America is experiencing exceptional growth, and the Super League North is part of that movement. Montreal is building something ambitious, and I want to be a part of it. I can’t wait to contribute on the field and help this team reach new heights.”
Following a successful time in Ghana with Hasaacas Ladies, where she inspired the Sekondi-based side to domestic and continental success in 2021/22 season, she featured for Avaldnes IL and Molde in Norway before a brief time in France.
Badu became the first player to win the Golden Boot in the CAF Women's Champions League before later adding the best inter-club player and young player accolades to her long list of awards.
“Evelyn possesses a rare combination of technical skill and top-level experience,” said Marinette Pichon, the Roses’ sporting director.
“She has shone on the African continent, she has played in demanding European leagues, and she knows how to score in crucial moments. She is an intelligent player who reads the game, creates opportunities, and is able to find the right space for the final pass or finish with precision. She will bring an extra dimension to our attack and embody the winning mentality we want to develop.”
