The U15 Girls Regional Colts League has begun successfully in the Eastern Region, marking a positive start to the grassroots women’s football season under the FIFA League Development Programme.
The opening ceremony was attended by FIFA Technical Expert Thubaelihle Bridgette Sibandda, Eastern Regional Football Association Coordinator Daasebre Adu Asare, and Women’s Development Officer Jennifer Amankwa Sarpong, who performed the ceremonial kick-off to officially launch the competition. Ms Sibandda’s presence underscored FIFA’s continued commitment to youth and women’s football development in Ghana.
All Matchday One fixtures were played as scheduled, with teams delivering competitive and spirited performances across the various centres. Valued Girls FC began their campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over Solid Rock FC, while Unick FC claimed a narrow 1â0 win against Rootz Sistaz FC.
Eufold Ladies FC recorded a hard-earned 1-0 triumph over Kotoku Rush Ladies FC, and Okyeman Girls FC closed the day with a commanding 3â0 win against Obiri Mma FC.
The smooth execution of the opening round reflects the growing organisation and commitment to grassroots football development in the Eastern Region. The league aims to provide young female players with regular competitive football while promoting discipline, teamwork, and technical development, as attention now turns to the next round of fixtures.
