Former Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr. Kofi Kodua (K.K) Sarpong has identified the club’s successive Ghana Premier League titles as the defining achievement of his time in charge, describing the feat as a moment of lasting pride.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, Dr. Sarpong reflected on a period he believes marked a turning point in Kotoko’s modern history, coming after years of frustration on the domestic front.
Reflecting on that era, Dr. Sarpong was clear about what stood out most.
“I won two league cups back to back; they hadn’t won it for about seven years so that was the proudest moment. When the time comes for you to leave, nobody should tell you you should exit and I left at the right time.”
Dr. Sarpong led the Porcupine Warriors between 2010 and 2013, a spell that delivered sustained success and restored the club’s dominance in Ghanaian football.
Under his leadership, Kotoko not only reclaimed the league title but did so in consecutive seasons, ending a seven year wait for the championship.
The club also added two Super Cup, or Champion of Champions, titles during that period, reinforcing their status at the top of the local game.
