The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will announce details of the Black Stars’ camping base and logistical arrangements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the first week of February.
This is according to Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Association.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Asante Twum further disclosed that the provisional squad for the Black Stars’ campaign at the World Cup will be released in April.
“Details of the Black Stars’ camping base and logistical arrangements will be announced in the first week of February. The provisional squad is expected in April, with the final squad to be named on June 1,” he said.
In the interview, Asante Twum indicated that the Ghana FA’s target for the Black Stars is to progress from the group stage and put up a competitive performance.
“Our target for the World Cup is to qualify from the group stage and be competitive. We want to fight, we have the quality, and we believe we can match our quarter-final appearanceâand possibly go even further,” he noted.
Asante Twum added, “Following the Qatar 2022 World Cup, we strengthened the technical team. The coach has requested some new additions, and the FA is currently working on them. However, the individuals involved are under contract with their respective employers, making it difficult to disclose names at this time.”
Ghana secured qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in November after topping their group in the African qualifiers.
At the World Cup, the Black Stars have been pitted in Group L and will compete with England, Croatia, and Panama.
