Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed that Black Stars coach Otto Addo has requested that the technical team be beefed up ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Ghana will make their fifth appearance at the Mundial in the summer and has been housed in Group I alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
Having already added Winfried Schafer, Desmond Ofei and Gregory De Grauwe to the team, Asante Twum, speaking in an interview, confirmed that Addo has officially informed the Football Association to add more hands to the technical team.
"I am aware that Otto Addo has requested to beef up the Black Stars technical team," he told Sporty FM.
"This is the biggest football tournament and he beleives we must go there with the best," he added.
Ghana’s Group L campaign kicks off against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before the England match in Boston, and concludes against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
Following early exits in the 2014 Brazil and 2022 Qatar tournaments, the Black Stars are aiming for a stronger performance in the expanded 2026 tournament.
As part of the preparation of the team, the Black Stars will face Germany on March 30 in an international friendly game in Stuttgart.
