Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu’s growing reputation in European football has been further enhanced after he was named in the Serbian Super Liga Team of the First Round, recognition that underlines his consistency and influence since the beginning of the season with FK Radnik Surdulica.
Owusu has been one of Radnik's standout performers, delivering a string of assured displays that have made him a constant menace to opposing defences.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a productive campaign, registering seven goals in 20 league appearances.
Beyond the numbers, Owusu’s all-round contribution - from pressing defenders to linking play in advanced areas - has played a key role in Radnik’s competitiveness throughout the opening phase of the season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, earning him a deserved place among the league’s best performers in the first round.
Since arriving at Radnik in 2024 from Asekem FC, Owusu has established himself as a core figure within the squad, quickly adapting to the demands of Serbian football.
His rapid rise has also attracted interest beyond Serbia. The Ghanaian attacker has been linked with several clubs, including Swiss side Young Boys and Turkish outfit Samsunspor, with the latest reports connecting him to Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Being named in the Team of the First Round marks a significant milestone in Owusu’s career and reflects his upward trajectory.
