Director of Marketing for the Ghana Football Association, Jamil Maraby, has been appointed President of the newly established Marketing Committee of WAFU Zone B. The decision was taken at the 18th Ordinary General Assembly of WAFU Zone B, which was held in Rabat, Morocco.
This appointment marks a historic milestone for the sub-regional football body, as it is the first time WAFU Zone B has constituted a dedicated Marketing Committee. The move underscores the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its commercial structures and enhancing the marketability of its competitions across the zone.
Jamil Maraby will work alongside Abdoulaye Diabate of Ivory Coast and Tiendrebeogo Jerome of Burkina Faso, who have been named as members of the committee. Together, the team will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, securing sponsorships, and attracting commercial partnerships to support WAFU Zone B tournaments and activities.
Widely regarded as one of the leading sports marketing professionals in the region, Jamil brings a wealth of experience to the role. In his capacity as Director of Marketing for the Ghana FA, he has been instrumental in brokering several high-profile sponsorship and partnership deals that have significantly boosted the commercial profile and financial sustainability of Ghana football.
His appointment is therefore seen as a major boost for WAFU Zone B, with expectations that his leadership and expertise will help unlock new revenue streams and elevate the branding of competitions within the zone.
