Independent candidate vows to win Asante-Akim North seat
Agogo (Ash), Nov. 16, GNA – Mr Samuel Anyan-Kusi, an Independent Candidate, has vowed to win the newly created Asante-Akim North Constituency seat.
He said he was confident that the outpour of massive goodwill and support by the people for his campaign would translate into votes on December 7.
Mr Anyan-Kusi said he decided to go solo after he was disqualified at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary election on the basis of his dual nationality.
Mr Anyan-Kusi has since renounced his American citizenship.
Launching his campaign at a well-attended rally at Agogo, he promised to bring development to the people, if given the mandate to represent them in parliament.
He said he would provide an open, transparent and accountable leadership and called on the people to turn out in their numbers on voting day.
Scores of known supporters of the NPP, who thronged the rally ground, said they would vote for him and Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, their party’s presidential candidate.
