Ekumfi citizens asked not to compel President to nominate DCE
Ekumfi Narkwa, (C/R) Nov. 9, GNA - Mr Otu Abremoah, an opinion leader of the newly created Ekumfi District in the Central Region, has advised the people against compelling President John Dramani Mahama to nominate a District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.
He said President Mahama should be given ample time to nominate efficient people to help in the development of the District, and explained that the time to select a DCE for the area was too short, considering the fact that Ghana would go to the polls on December 7.
Mr Abremoah in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Ekumfi Narkwa, appealed to the electorate to vote massively for President Mahama, National Democratic Congress presidential candidate for Election 2012, and Mr Abeiku Crentsil, parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman East, in December.
The opinion leader stressed that Ghanaians should retain the NDC in power as way of honouring the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
Mr Abremoah said the people of the district had benefited from the national cake through the provision of energy, potable water, health and roads.
He reminded the people that the creation of Ekumfi District was started by the late President Mills.
