IRATE YOUTH at Brodi in the Tain District of the Bono Region have allegedly burnt a 50-year-old man, Kwame Jack, to death after accusing him of killing his 43-year-old wife, Abena Donkor.
The incident occurred on Monday night following what sources described as a misunderstanding between the couple.
Jack is alleged to have attacked and killed his wife before fleeing the community.
His disappearance reportedly prompted angry youth in Brodi to organise a search for him in the surrounding bushes.
The search later led to the discovery of his body at the Brodi Cemetery on Tuesday.
A source in the community said, “The youth at Brodi rushed to the bush and searched for him. We saw the body at Brodi Cemetery this afternoon and he was dead.”
The exact circumstances surrounding Jack’s death were unclear at press time, although reports indicated that he had been burnt by the irate youth.
The bodies of Jack and his wife have since been deposited at the Nsawkaw Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and further examination.
The Nsawkaw Police have taken up the case and commenced investigations into the deaths.
The police have appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands as investigations continue.
