Young lady killed and dumped in container at American Town in Kasoa

The decomposing body of a young lady believed to be in her 20s was discovered wrapped in a sack, which was dumped in a roadside container at American Town, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

A report by UTV’s Jacob Kubi said the residents began sensing a pungent smell within the community somewhere in the morning, which intensified later in the afternoon. They had initially thought one of the residents must have slaughtered an animal whose decomposing parts might have overwhelmed the area.

However, the intensity of the stench compelled the residents to trace the origin of the stench and realized that it was dominant around the container by the roadside which served as a grocery shop but had not been in use for some time.

With a piqued suspicion, they invited the assemblyman of the area and under his supervision, the container was forced open with the help of the Unit Committee Members and others. They found a sack in it, with a human knee popping out of it.

Convinced that somebody must have murdered another and dumped the corpse in the container, the police were invited to the scene.

According to Jacob Kubi, when the corpse was brought out of the sack, a part of the deceased’s face appeared as though it was hit with a hammer.

An investigation has reportedly begun into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young lady, who the residents say they don’t believe was a resident of the area.

The unfortunate incident has reportedly left residents in a state of shock and sadness, with many of them lamenting that the bad name that Kasoa has become notorious for is gradually engulfing the town’s suburbs.
