Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall artist Samini Dagati has expressed confidence that, with the right financial support and investment, he is capable of filling up the O2 Arena in London.
He believes achieving such a feat is not far-fetched from any top Ghanaian artist, however, the right channels, support, and an extensive promotional campaign spanning 4 to 6 months are the key to amassing such large crowd
The 'My Own hitmaker in a conversation with TV host Berla Mundi explained “By myself, I will fill it with the right investment. You are talking to Batman who became Samini. You are talking to Batman the MOBO award winner. If the right things are put in place and you promote Samini in London for 4 months, six months, 3 months, I will fill that space.”
He also emphasized that the Nigerian government has made efforts to change the perception of Nigeria's music industry and artists and cautioned against unfair comparisons between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists, noting that each country's music scene is unique and should be appreciated as such.
“There was this rumor that there was a conscious effort by the Nigerian government and other private institutions to change the narrative about the name Nigeria. I represent Ghana and I don’t want you to tell me because I represent Ghana, and I’ve reached the brim and a Nigerian artiste is doing his thing all of a sudden, I should be like him otherwise I’ve not reached. No, It’s not a fair comparison.”
Samini recently bagged a degree from the GreenHill Campus, GIMPA in project management.
