A University of Ghana (UG) graduate who won a GHc100,000 from sports betting has revealed plans to relocate to Canada to settle down.
The punter, whose Twitter account name is @ProphetManuel3, took to the microblogging site to announce his huge winnings.
According to him, he discovered a betting strategy that works, insisting he has no plans of ending his gambling habit.
“Canada here we come,” he wrote on Twitter as he shared photos of his account being credited with his winnings.
“This is just the beginning of more winnings ahead, once you get hold of a good betting strategy make sure to make good use of it. We are just starting and we will not stop anytime soon. Bet Till Casket, Insha Allah.”
Sports betting has often divided opinions among Ghanaians, with certain quarters highlighting its effects on the youth.
Others also believe betting is legal and therefore cannot be described as a bad practice when no laws are broken.
In 2021, a man named Kobi Barnes was crowned the betting king in Ghana after he won a whopping GHc196,093 from sports betting.
Kobi was hailed on Twitter as Ghana’s new betting king, with many looking up to him to provide them with odds on a weekly basis.
His followers on the micro-blogging app have also skyrocketed from 5,000 to over 11,000 within 24 hours.
