
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey, who confirmed the news, said the engine of a gas tanker caught fire at the Achimota Ridge area over the weekend.
Ghanaians would have woken up to another deadly gas explosion in Achimato in the Greater Accra Region but for the swift intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey, who confirmed the news, said the engine of a gas tanker caught fire at the Achimota Ridge area over the weekend.
According to him, when the fire service had call about the incident, a fire tender was quickly dispatched to the scene and brought the fire under control.
“We had a call that there was a gas tanker at Achimota Ridge area and we dispatched our people to the scene," he told Accra-based Citi FM.
"When they got there, they saw that it was a gas tanker engine compartment that was actually on fire but the timely intervention of the Fire Service brought the fire under control,” Mr. Anaglatey explained.
