Ghanaian champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League after a 3-1 win over Huracanes FC on Sunday evening.
Tracey Twum set the ball rolling with a sublime free-kick to give the Ghanaians the lead in the ninth minute after Captain Jennifer Owusuaa was brought down on the edge of the box.
Twum made no mistake, as she curled the ball into the top corner for the opener.
Goalkeeper Debora Brown made some crucial saves to keep her side in the game with the Ghanaian champions going into the break with a 1-0 lead.
After the interval, Tracey Twum again profited from a defensive mix up to score her second of the night.
Substitute Nyayimaya scored the third goal in the 88th minute after a brilliant team move before Huracanes FC pulled back a consolation goal on the 92nd minute.
The result seals a semifinal spot for Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who will now face Sporting Casablanca in tomorrow’s semi-final.
