The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Street Academy, Mr AtaaLartey, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) disclosed that the main objective of the programme was to make positive impact on the lives of children on the street and show them that they were valued and cared for by the community, adding that the small act of kindness would go a long way in bringing happiness to the children.
“The Easter picnic will provide the children with an opportunity to make new friends and interact with volunteers and organisers who genuinely care about their well-being.”
He added that it would provide a safe and welcoming environment for street children to come together, connect with one another and have a sense of belonging.
Mr Lartey said it was important to remember that street children often face several challenges and obstacles, such as poverty, homelessness, and lack of access to education and healthcare, hence the reason for the Easter programme is to put smiles on the faces of these children.

Mr NiiOdartei Mills, President, Santa Institute of Technology (SITE), noted that it was important to support and help the less privileged children in the society saying they were the future leaders.
He commended the management of Street Academy for thinking about the children on the street and putting smiles on their faces every day.
Mr Mills called on stakeholders and individuals to support the programme for the betterment of the children and the country as a whole.
