A group of Muslims in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region have offered special prayers as part of spiritual intervention for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The group, made up of Zongo Chiefs and Imams recited the Quran at the Koforidua Central Mosqueand prayed fervently to Allah for peaceful and smooth election activities and by extension celestial empowerment to gain victory for Dr. Bawumia.
The special prayers and recitations were intentionally organised through the instrumentality of the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, to intercede for Dr Bawumia to be crowned victorious in the 2024 elections.
Alhaji Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, who led the spiritual exercise on behalf of the Eastern Regional Minister, explained that the prayer was to support Dr. Bawumia’s vision for winning the upcoming December polls for the NPP.
He disclosed the prayers were to protect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from any forms of violence and spiritual machinations before, during and after the December 7 general elections.
The Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Amudani Sulemana, advised the youth to desist from violence-related activities during and after the December 7, presidential and parliamentary elections.
Alhaji Yusif Amudani Sulemana urged Ghanaians to accept the outcome of the election results and strive to foster peaceful co-existence and harmony in the country.
