Kylian Mbappe was unveiled as a Real Madrid player yesterday in front of 80,000 Real Madrid fans inside the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappe was pictured alongside Florentino Perez as he was unveiled as Madrid’s new No 9.
The French World Cup winner will join the LaLiga outfit as a free agent after his PSG contract expired earlier in the summer.
The French superstar beamed as he spoke about joining the ‘club of his dreams’ after being teed up by Andrea Bocelli , an extended montage, and a speech from club president Florentino Perez.
Mbappe’s parting message was how much of a special day it had been for he his family. ‘Before stepping onto the pitch, I watched the initial part of the presentation on the screen.
‘I watched the videos and it was a great experience. I wanted to enjoy this moment as much as I can. It’s been a wonderful day for me and my family.
‘The exact moment I knew 100% when I was signing for Real Madrid was today, signing the contract. You saw the images, That’s when I knew it was for real.
‘Today is the day I will never forget. I knew it was going to be special but it surpassed my expectations.
‘When I have been here in Spain, all the fans showed me a lot of affection. All I can say is I’m very grateful to them, it’s a mutual feeling.
‘I don’t want to come here, score a goal and go home. I want to adapt to the team… I want to live my dream 100%.’
Mbappe admits he is targeting European glory and a Ballon d’Or title having now joined Real Madrid.
‘Of course this is the best club to achieve something like that. I need to adapt to the system, the group. Other things will arrive naturally.
‘Obviously I want to win the Champions League, Ballon d’Or and other titles.
