Mr Douglas K. Mackenzie, Regional Rent Control Manager, has appealed to the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council to assist his outfit to relocate its office accommodation to a suitable location in Kumasi.
According to him, the present office located at the last floor of a two story building is not only in a deplorable state, but also not favourable and convenient for the aged and people living with disabilities (PLWDs).
The building housing the Regional Rent Control Offices is also accommodating two other departments, namely the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Non-Formal Education Unit (NFC).
Mr Mackenzie indicated that all efforts to secure suitable office accommodation have proved futile and called on the Regional Minister to come to their aid.
He said a piece of land within the Kumasi Metropolis for the construction of a new office accommodation would be more friendly and accessible to the aged, people living with disabilities (PLWDs) and the general public.
