Alidu Seidu has vowed to give everything to help OGC Nice enjoy a successful season after completing his loan move from Stade Rennais.
The Ghana international joined the French Ligue 1 side on a straight loan deal after Nice used the ‘joker’ provision to bring him in following Antoine Mendy’s ACL injury.
Seidu had been in contact with Nice during the summer but eventually completed the move after the French transfer window had closed.
The 26-year-old defender arrives with the motivation to secure regular playing time and contribute to Olivier Pantaloni’s team during the remainder of the campaign.
Seidu says the delayed move has not affected his desire to make an immediate contribution at his new club.
“I’d already spoken to the club during the summer,” Seidu explained. “In the end, I’ve joined slightly later than planned but with an enormous amount of motivation. I want to play, to be on the pitch and to help the team and the club.”
The Ghanaian is expected to provide defensive cover through his ability to operate as a right-back, right wing-back and centre-back.
His versatility could prove valuable to Nice, who are dealing with absences in defence and needed to make use of the special recruitment rule.
Seidu is also eager to establish a strong relationship with the club’s supporters.
“I can’t wait to get down to work, and I’m going to give everything to make sure that we have a good season together and to make the fans proud!”
The move gives Seidu an opportunity to revive his club career while competing regularly in Ligue 1.
