President of MLS side Colorado Rapids, Padgraig Smith, has shared his excitement following the acquisition of Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq.
The former Ghana U17 star signed a deal to join Rapids through the 2027-28 MLS season, with a club option for 2028-29. The 26-year-old will occupy the international roster slot following the receipt of his P-1 Visa.
He joins from Dutch giants AZ Alkmaar, where he spent the last three seasons, making 85 appearances and scoring 18 goals.
“Ibrahim is an exciting attacking player who has demonstrated his quality across several competitive European leagues,” said Smith.
“His pace, directness, and ability to create and score goals from wide areas will add another important dimension to our attack. He also brings valuable experience of winning championships and competing in European competition. We are delighted to welcome Ibrahim to Colorado," he added.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate moved to Europe in 2018, where he featured for FC Nordsjaelland before later enjoying a successful spell in Sweden with BK Hacken.
During his time in Europe, he won the Swedish Cup, the Allsevenskan and the Dutch Cup.
