Barcelona have confirmed that Belgian-Ghanaian forward youngster Jesse Bisiwu has suffered no serious injury after being forced off during the Catalan Cup final.
The 18-year-old winger picked up a blow to his left thigh during Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat to CE Sabadell on Wednesday and was substituted in the 12th minute after receiving treatment on the pitch.
Medical tests carried out on Thursday morning confirmed that Bisiwu suffered only a contusion.
Barcelona expect the Belgian winger to return to training within a short period, easing concerns over a potentially serious injury.
Bisiwu joined Barcelona from Club Brugge this summer in a deal worth a fixed fee of eight-and-a-half million euros.
He has been registered with Barcelona’s first team but is expected to continue his development with the youth team.
The winger, who has Ghanaian roots, is currently focused on representing Belgium, his country of birth, at international level.
