Nigeria confirmed as host of CAF Ordinary General Assembly in November

Nigeria has been chosen as the host nation for the upcoming CAF Ordinary General Assembly scheduled for November, CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe has announced.

The annual gathering will bring together football leaders from across Africa as representatives of CAF’s 54 member associations converge to deliberate on key matters shaping the future of the sport on the continent.

The Ordinary General Assembly serves as one of CAF’s most important administrative meetings, providing a platform for discussions on football development, competitions, governance structures, financial decisions, and strategic initiatives aimed at improving the game across Africa.

Motsepe’s announcement further highlights Nigeria’s growing influence within African football. The country remains one of the continent’s most recognised football nations, with a rich history of producing top players, achieving international success, and hosting major football events.

Hosting the assembly will also offer Nigeria an opportunity to showcase its football facilities, organisational strength, and readiness to support major continental activities.

CAF has placed strong emphasis on cooperation among its member associations as part of efforts to improve transparency, strengthen administration, and accelerate the development of football at all levels.
