New HSV signing Kofi Amoako says he is already looking forward to stepping out at the Volksparkstadion after completing his move from SG Dynamo Dresden.
The German U20 international admitted that the size and atmosphere of HSV’s home ground made a big impression on him. Amoako’s move adds depth and energy to HSV’s midfield as the club prepares for the new season.
He spent the previous year at Dresden after a loan spell with VfL Osnabrück, and he also came through the youth system at VfL Wolfsburg. During his time there, he made two Bundesliga appearances and has already earned six caps for Germany’s U20 side
“Claus talked me through HSV’s playing style and won me over. After speaking to the whole coaching team â Merlin, Loic and Richi â I knew for certain that I wanted to play for this club,” Amoako said.
He also added: “I can’t wait for the first home game, because the Volksparkstadion is simply huge!”.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder arrives after a season at Dresden that included 33 appearances, one goal and one assist. Before that, he spent time on loan at VfL Osnabrück and developed at VfL Wolfsburg, where he made two Bundesliga appearances.
