Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie delivered a standout performance as Aarau powered to a 5â1 home victory over Stade Nyonnais in the Swiss Challenge League.
Afriyie opened the scoring in the 12th minute, calmly finishing to set the tone for a dominant first half in which Aarau raced into a 5â1 lead by the break.
Beyond his goal, Afriyie was a constant menace for the visitors’ defence. He had the most touches in the opposition box (7), took the joint-most shots (5), and completed the joint-most dribbles (4), underlining how central he was to everything Aarau created in the final third.
The 24-year-old has now put together an impressive 2025/26 league campaign, making 33 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing 7 assists in the Swiss Challenge League.
Aarau’s attacking fluency was too much for Stade Nyonnais, with further strikes from Mastil (own goal), Frokaj, Jäckle and Filet sealing an emphatic win.
The result keeps Aarau in strong form heading into their next Challenge League fixture away to FC Vaduz on Monday, May 11.
