Swedish side Halmstads BK are weighing up the option of signing Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Yeboah on a permanent deal following his loan stint from Brondby IF, GHANAsoccernet.com understands
Yeboah, 23, joined the Allsvenskan outfit in the summer of 2025 in search of regular playing time after struggling for minutes in Denmark.
Since his arrival, the former Ghana youth international has made 16 competitive appearances, scoring three goals for Halmstads as he continues to rebuild form and confidence.
With his loan deal set to expire at the end of June, it had been widely expected that the forward would return to Brondby.
However, Halmstads manager Jesper Westerberg has revealed that the club holds an option to make the move permanent.
“We haven’t made a decision yet. We need to play a few more matches in the Allsvenskan before deciding whether to activate the option,” Westerberg told Tipsbladet.
The Swedish coach acknowledged that Yeboah arrived at the club short of match fitness but believes there is still significant potential to unlock.
“He had a tough period before coming here and hadn’t played much. He needs to work hard to reach the level we know he can get to. Hopefully, we can help him, and Brondby will also be pleased with that development,” he added.
Competition for places remains a factor in the decision-making process, with Halmstads currently boasting multiple attacking options, including new signing Omar Faraj and academy prospect Malte Persson.
A final decision on Yeboah’s future is expected after the opening rounds of the Allsvenskan season, as Halmstads assess his impact and long-term value to the squad.
