Antoine Semenyo has set his sights on winning more silverware with Manchester City after playing a key role in their 2-0 triumph over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday.
The Ghana international delivered an energetic performance at Wembley, operating on the right flank and consistently troubling the Arsenal defence.
His contribution proved vital as City secured their ninth League Cup title, courtesy of a second-half brace from Nico O'Reilly.
Speaking after the game, Semenyo could not hide his excitement after lifting the first trophy of his professional career, describing the moment as special and deeply personal.
“First of many! I’m excited, I’m happy. And many more to come!” he said.
The former A.F.C. Bournemouth forward, who only joined City in January, described his early months at the club as a “fairytale” and emphasized his desire to keep improving and showcasing his versatility.
“It feels like a fairytale if I’m honest. I feel like I have a lot more to show. I want to play wide, as a nine, and show how versatile I am, and just help the team as much as I can,” he added.
Semenyo also highlighted the freedom he enjoys under manager Pep Guardiola, which allows him to take on defenders and create attacking opportunities.
“I have that freedom to do what I want, get at defenders and cause problems. That’s what I did today,” he noted.
Reflecting on his journey, the forward maintained a strong sense of faith. “God’s got a plan. It might not work out and you might not know why, but the answer always reveals itself,” he said.
Looking ahead, Semenyo believes the victory can provide momentum for City as they push to close the gap on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
“I think it gives us a boost and confidence⦠we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job,” he stated.
With confidence high and silverware secured, Semenyo’s focus is now firmly on helping City achieve even greater success this season.
