Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko has bid a fond farewell to departing defender Kamaradini Mamudu, expressing his full confidence that the player will succeed in his new career chapter with Sudanese giants Al Hilal.
Mamudu, a 23-year-old Ghana international, completed a three-and-a-half-year transfer from the Ghana Premier League leaders, where he established himself as the league's most prolific defender.
In the 2024/25 season, he scored eight goals, and he had already netted five times by matchday 20 of the current campaign.
"Kamaradini is a really fantastic guy, not only on the pitch but outside the pitch, he's also very disciplined," Tanko said, praising the player's character. "It's very painful that we are going to miss him, but I think life must go on. He also has to look for somewhere else to try to continue his career."
The coach extended his best wishes to the player, who leaves while Medeama hold an eight-point lead at the top of the table.
"I wish him very well. I hope that he will go there and then like he did here," Tanko stated. He also pointed to the squad's depth, adding, "Definitely, we are going to miss him, but I think we still have three right backs that can also step on his feet."
Mamudu, who has earned two caps for the Black Stars, joins Al Hilal, a club currently leading the Rwandan Premier League after relocating due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan. His move represents a significant step forward in his career and a notable loss for the Ghanaian champions-elect.
