Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has accepted his team’s defeat to Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League over the weekend, arguing that it was a tough match away from home.
The team from Kpando travelled to Bechem on Sunday to battle the Hunters in their Week 20 fixture of the 2025/26 league campaign.
At the end of the close contest that ensued between the two teams, Bechem United secured a crucial 1-0 victory to keep all three points.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Bashir Hayford described the clash as a tough one, stressing that his team must quickly move on and target a win in their next game.
“It was a very tough game because both teams fought from their heart. We fought and fought and fought, but..We will take it like that because that is football.
“The two teams exhibited good football. Bechem United played at home and collected the three points. We will also go home and prepare for the next match,” Bashir Hayford said.
Heart of Lions are currently on a poor run in the Ghana Premier League, having only won one match in their last 10 outings.
The team will face Asante Kotoko at the Kpando Sports Stadium on January 31.
