American-Ghanaian striker Patrick Agyemang continued his impressive Championship campaign with a clinical first-half strike in Derby County’s 1â1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at Pride Park.
Just before the break, Agyemang timed his run perfectly to meet Aune Selland Heggebø’s pass and coolly finished in the 44th minute, giving Derby a deserved lead after a bright attacking display. He later made way for Lars-Jørgen Salvesen on 85 minutes to warm applause from the home crowd.
Derby looked on course for all three points until deep into stoppage time, when Chris Mepham headed in a 90+5th-minute equaliser from a Jayson Molumby delivery, denying the Rams a valuable win.
The goal capped a late West Brom surge after Derby had largely controlled key phases of the match. For Agyemang, the night still underlined his growing influence; he now has 8 goals and 3 assists in 25 Championship appearances this season, further cementing his status as Derby’s leading attacking threat.
The result leaves Derby searching for greater consistency as they push up the table, with their next Championship fixture away to Bristol City.
