The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has hinted that Asante Kotoko might return to the Baba Yara Stadium for their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors were forced to play their home games at the Accra Sports Stadium since the playing surface of the Baba Yara Stadium was unfit to host international games.
In the first leg of the preliminary round of games, Kotoko secured a 4-3 win against Kwara United on Sunday.
However, speaking on Asempa FM, Mr Ampofo Ankrah revealed that they have been working tirelessly to ensure the playing surface is up to the standard of CAF.
He added that Kotoko might return to their home grounds should they qualify for the next round of the preliminary round of games.
"It is possible Asante Kotoko might return to play their CAF Confederation Cup games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium if they qualify for the next round," Ampofo Ankrah said.
"We have been working to ensure we get it in a good state.
"That is why we have instructed that the Rapaholic event must not be hosted on the pitch," he added.
Asante Kotoko will head to Nigeria for the return leg this weekend at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium on Sunday, September 28.
The winner of the tie will face Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club.
