Stonebwoy backs Black Queens ahead of WAFCON quarter-final clash with Algeria
Ghanaian Afro-dancehall and reggae star Stonebwoy has sent a message of encouragement to the Black Queens ahead of their Womens Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-final match against Algeria.The senior womens national team secured second place in Group C after a 2-0 defeat to South Africa, a 1-1 draw with Mali, and a commanding 4-1 win over Tanzania in their final group game.Speaking to Asempa FM, the award-winning artist expressed his admiration for the team and his support for their journey in Morocco.I enjoy womens football more than mens football and have been following them, especially the new player Chantelle Boye. Ive been doing videos to encourage them, he said.Myself, and I believe all Ghanaians, are rallying behind them, so they should make us proud by beating Algeria this Saturday.He added, I hope to meet them when they return to Ghana after the tournament.Black Queens are hoping to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2016. The match against Algeria will take place on Saturday, July 19, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, with Ghanas final training session set for Friday.
