â??We need to not be scared against Algeriaâ?? â?? Black Queens coach ahead of WAFCON quarter-final
Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjrkegren has urged his players to approach their upcoming WAFCON quarter-final against Algeria with courage and belief, insisting they must not be scared despite the strength of their opponents.Ghana face Algeria on Saturday, July 19, in a bid to reach the semi-finals of the Womens Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2016.The match promises to be one of the most closely contested fixtures of the tournament so far.Speaking ahead of the tie, Bjrkegren described Algeria as possibly the best-organized side at the tournament.The North Africans remain unbeaten and are yet to concede a goal.The Algeria team is very organized; maybe the best organized team in this tournament, the Swedish coach said. It is going to be a difficult game for us for sure. We need to do our things, keep building.Bjrkegren, however, emphasized the importance of a confident mindset, saying, We need to not be scared out there but see things in the opposite way, that we actually have a great chance to go to the next round.The Queens will hold their final training session on Friday.
