GFA approves Name Change of Pearlpia Ladies FC to Northern Ladies City FC

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially approved the request from Pearlpia Ladies Football Club to change its name to Northern City Ladies Football Club, following the completion of all legal and procedural requirements.

This rebranding initiative, initiated by the clubs ownership, aims to reflect a renewed identity that aligns with their evolving vision and regional representation in Northern Ghana.

The GFA, in its approval letter, confirmed the lawful change of name and the receipt of all relevant documentation. The letter reads in part:

We acknowledge receipt of the letter from PEARLPIA LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB requesting approval for a change of your clubs name from PEARLPIA LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB (an incorporated company) to NORTHERN CITY LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB after a board resolution.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) also acknowledges receipt of the incorporated documents of the change of name to NORTHERN CITY LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB from the Registrar Generals Department attached with Registration Number CG030990525, and TIN, C0065497015 submitted to the GFA. The GFA notes that PEARLPIA LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB, an incorporated company under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), has changed its name correctly under the law.

Following this, the GFA granted formal approval for the change, subject to specific conditions. Notably, the Association clarified that all existing rights and obligations in the name of Pearlpia Ladies FC remain binding:

Kindly take notice that all documents, rights and obligations including but not limited to debts or fines owed to the GFA and player registration licenses or fees in the name of PEARLPIA LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB shall remain valid and shall continue in force as if same are owed by or are in the name of NORTHERN CITY LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB.

The change takes immediate effect, and the club will henceforth compete in all GFA-sanctioned activities under its new name, Northern City Ladies Football Club.
