Keta Municipal FA sets up ExCo, plans to introduce Beach Soccer in Basic Schools
[caption id=attachment_1228769 align=alignnone width=832] Mawuli Gati - Keta Municipal FA Chairman[/caption]The Keta Municipal Football Association (MFA) has set up an Executive Committee to oversee the development of football in the Municipality following elections conducted by officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Regional Football Association (RFA) .The committee will also work as the management body of the association and will be led by the newly elected Chairman, Mawuli Gati, a former class one referee and chairman of Havedzi Stars FC, a division 3 football club in the Keta Municipality.Other members of the committee are Wisdom Edziah as Vice Chairman, Innocent Kumensah (Secretary), Daniel Kovor (Treasurer), and Dzidodo Adjahoe (Communications Officer).As part of efforts to re-establish football in Keta, the association plans to develop football from the grassroots level, focusing on young talent and providing them with the necessary training and resources to excel in the sport.Additionally, there are plans to introduce beach soccer in schools, which is a fantastic way to promote the sport and encourage young people to get involved.Beach soccer is gaining popularity in Ghana, and the Volta Region, where Keta is located, is already producing talented players who are making a name for themselves in the national team.Keta is recognized as the home of beach soccer in Ghana, having produced Ghana's two most successful beach soccer clubs; Sunset Sports Keta and Kedzi Havedzi Mighty Warriors.The community has also hosted the biggest beach soccer games in the country and boasts a good number of players in the Ghana national team.The Keta Municipal FA in the next couple of days will engage various community leaders and distinguished personalities from Keta in a bid to partner in developing the sports.The MFA will also hold a stakeholder engagement involving the football community, political, traditional, and religious leaders to discuss a collective developmental program for Keta.
