Accra, Jan 1, GNA - Worshipers of the Holy Ghost Worship Centre Assemblies of God Church, Ashaiman Jericho, welcomed the New Year 2020 with jubilations, prayers and great aspirations.
The congregants gathered at about 0800 hours on Dec. 31, 2019, in wait of the coming year through worship, prayers, thanksgiving and sharing of the word of God.
At about 2345 hours the Head Pastor of the congregation, The Reverend Thomas Henry Quamson, led the church through prayers and declarations to enter into the anticipated year, 2020.
He encouraged the congregants to be steadfast in their fellowship in the New Year and urged them to see the church as a family.
He said the steadfastness in the Lord would give them the ability to walk in the abundant blessing of God in the New Year.
He announced the theme of the year as "Fellowship of the Holy Spirit: Overflow 2020, 2 Corinthians 4:15".
Madam Juliet Ansah, a member of the church said she was hopeful that the New Year would bring better things than in 2019.
She said she was going to put in much effort through prayer and hard work to achieve her goals and targets for the year.
She said the New Year brought a feeling of freshness and much energy to achieve more to the glory of God.
Members of the church were anointed with olive oil and blessed to enter the New Year.
The Minister prayed for God’s protection over their lives and wished them the best of the New Year.
Members greeted each other with hugs, smiles and wished each other "Afihyiapa", “Happy New Year”, amongst other seasonal greetings.
