Torgbui Korfe M/A primary in deplorable state

Torgbui -Korfe (O/R), July 29, GNA - Authorities of Torgbui Korfe M/A Primary School in the Krachi East Municipality of Oti region have appealed to the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to provide the School with new classroom blocks.

He said the School's old infrastructure had become a death-trap with reptiles, including; snakes invading the dilapidated structure through its leaking roofs and broken floors.

Mr Agbe Hila Kwadjo Dei, Head teacher of the School in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the community, said due to the state of the school infrastructure, lessons were suspended during bad weather conditions and called for help to keep pupils in school.

He said the lack of sanitation facilities made the school environment unappealing to both teachers and pupils, with some teachers refusing postings to the School.

Torgbui Tekpor, Headman of the community said he was not happy that pupils had to sit on the floor to learn with others learning under trees and appealed for intervention from stakeholders.

He also appealed for teaching and learning materials for the School.
