Fatawu Issahaku displayed an emphatic performance in Leicester City’s 5-0 victory against Southampton, as he scored an impressive hat-trick and also provided an assist for a man of the match performance at the King Power Stadium.
The Ghanaian winger’s exploit in front of goal started in the 25th minute, when he dominated the defensive line of the ‘Saints’ with an intelligent pass from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, which allowed him to calmly slot home the Foxes first goal of the night.
The Foxes came into the second half with a more purposeful drive as they added a second goal in the 62nd minute courtesy of a Wilfried Ndidi accurately headed effort, beating Alex McCarthy in his goal.
The third goal wasn’t far away from happening as Fatawu curled in a brilliant strike from outside the box to set up his second for the night, with a likely charge of grabbing a third to secure his first hat-trick for Leicester City. Four minutes after scoring, the winger provided for the Foxes fourth goal with an assist for Jamie Vardy’s goal.
The 20-year-old made sure he completed his five-star performance with another goal, which saw him complete his hat trick charge in style with a spectacular finish, coming off a counterattack to seal a 5-0 victory for the Foxes. Fatawu Issahaku’s season tally now moves to six goals and 12 assists.
