The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the 31st December Revolution today, December 31, 2023, at Ashaley Botwe old town park, Adenta, in the Greater Accra Region.
The event is expected to be characterized by the lighting of the perpetual flame, laying of wreaths, and a durbar.
The commemoration is under the theme, “Building the Ghana we want: Revisiting the Decade that Stopped the Decay [1982-1992].”
The 31st December Revolution is celebrated every year to remind NDC members of the ideals upon which the 4th Republic was established—probity, accountability, freedom, and justice.
The event is expected to start at 8:30 am, with the functional executive committee of NDC, cadre corp, the flagbearer of NDC John Dramani Mahama, the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of NDC, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings, some traditional authorities, and stalwarts of the party in attendance.
