The Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President, Fred Oware, has refuted claims of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia being a ‘presumptive candidate’ for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This comes in response to concerns raised by some political analysts about this notion and the potential impact it could have on the party’s unity and internal affairs.
According to him, “Bawumia’s approach has been free of discord and insults, which will help in uniting all members of the party and ensuring a cohesive front as we approach the 2024 elections.”
Fred Oware also expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s victory in the ongoing NPP Presidential Elections.
Speaking to Citi News’ Hanson Agyemang, he stated that he is confident about today’s victory based on Dr. Bawumia’s performance during the Super Delegates Conference on August 26, 2023.
“We received over 70% of the votes last time and expect to achieve a similar or even higher percentage this time around, and we believe we will succeed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Political Scientist Dr. Abdul Jalilu Ateku has urged the organizers of the ongoing NPP Presidential election to ensure that the processes are conducted freely and fairly.
