MTN Ghana has been named the overall winner of the 2025 MTN Group Million Dollar Challenge, cementing its position as the leading operation across the MTN footprint.
The announcement was made at the MTN Global Leadership Gathering (GLG) 2026, where executives from across the Group convened to celebrate innovation and breakthrough performance.
The Million Dollar Challenge is MTN’s flagship internal competition designed to drive strategic execution, innovation, and value creation among its operating companies. MTN Ghana’s victory highlights its market-leading execution, strong financial and operational performance, and ability to scale strategic platforms across Fintech, Enterprise, and Consumer segments.
In addition to the overall win, MTN Ghana scooped six major awards, including: Connectivity (Enterprise), Connectivity (Consumer), Fintech (MoMo Ghana), CEO of the Year – Fintech: Shaibu Haruna, MoMo Ghana, Overall CEO of the Year (1st Runner-Up): Shaibu Haruna
Speaking on the achievement, Stephen Blewett, CEO of MTN Ghana, expressed pride in the team’s dedication:

MTN Ghana Foundation, in partnership with Cal Bank, has announced the 2026 edition of its flagship “Save A Life” blood donation campaign, aiming to collect 7,000 units of blood in a single day to support the National Blood Service and hospital blood banks across the country.
The nationwide exercise is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with donation centres activated across all 16 regions. Major collection points will include MTN Ghana’s Head Office, MobileMoney Ltd office at the Stanchart Building, and Cal Bank Head Office at Ridge, Accra, alongside 44 designated centres nationwide.
Samuel Bartels, Senior Manager for Regulatory and Government Affairs at MTN Ghana, speaking on behalf of the Acting Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, emphasized the urgency of the initiative: “Ghana still faces a significant blood shortage and every unit donated becomes a lifeline for someone’s parent, child, friend, or colleague. This campaign is not just another event. It is an act of love, a demonstration of leadership and a reaffirmation of our MTN value to lead with care.”
He appealed to individuals, corporate institutions, and the wider public to participate, stressing that blood remains an essential resource for emergencies and routine care.
Since its inception in 2011, the “Save A Life” campaign has mobilized over 35,000 units of blood, making it one of Ghana’s most impactful voluntary donation programmes. The 2026 edition builds on this legacy, expanding reach and reinforcing MTN Ghana Foundation’s commitment to national health and community wellbeing.
