This Paper has noted with concern a notice by the Ministry of Roads and Highways assuring commuters that heavy traffic congestion around the Flower Pot Flyover is expected to ease by end of Friday, November 15.
Contractors are said to be working day and night to complete the project, but it seems the haste is due to the political season the country finds itself in at this time.
We traversed that portion of the road network on Sunday gone, and one could visibly see the frustration on commuters faces at having been subjected to this inconvenience simply because of scoring political points.
We have noticed the indecent haste with which certain road projects like expansion of the Accra-Tema motorway are being undertaken. It appears that only during electioneering periods can citizens expect to witness development projects being implemented at speed.
