The tournament holds significant importance for both Ghana and Nigeria, albeit for different reasons. For Ghana, the competition serves as a crucial platform for their re-emergence onto the football scenes, following a two-year ban imposed due to age-cheating infractions. On the other hand, Nigeria will view the tournament as a vital preparatory ground for their upcoming U-17 World Cup qualifiers, as they seek to fine-tune their squad and strategies ahead of the global competition.
The two teams will face off on Sunday, December 22, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
